"The first purpose of a garden is to be a place of quiet beauty such as will give delight to the eye and repose and refreshment to the mind."
Gertrude Jekyll, A Gardener's Testament.
I wish... This is a snap taken just wandering around the streets in Brugge Belgium early one morning a couple of weeks ago. I kept saying to myself, where are all the people, why are there no children walking to school? And then turning a corner into the main market square, I found them all! This was a wonderful little trip, full of architecture, gorgeous little shops selling gorgeous lovely things, hot chocolate in art nouveau cafes, and of course the brilliant gardener who composed the front garden in this photo.
