Early in my career I had an admin worker whose command of English belied her 40+ years as a British-born citizen. She hadn't even been out of the country to holiday in Spain. On one occasion she gave me some letters to sign that were so caked in Tippex and littered with non-indented right-hand margins I sent one back to her with 6/10 could do better written across the bottom. She went bananas. Ungrateful bloody wretch.
